The Maker
Crafted with Purpose. Built for the Table.
The Wonderwyrks is a one-person workshop where tabletop gaming meets handcraft. Every piece is made to order, made to last, and made with the game in mind.
How It All Started
It started the way most obsessions do — at a table, surrounded by friends, wishing the terrain looked as epic as the adventure felt. I'd been playing tabletop RPGs and wargames for over a decade, and I kept running into the same problem: the pieces that existed were either too expensive, too generic, or just not quite right.
So I started making my own. A dice tray here, a terrain piece there. Friends noticed. Then strangers on the internet noticed. The Wonderwyrks grew out of that — a proper workshop dedicated to making the kind of gaming gear I always wanted but couldn't find.
Every order is still made by hand, by me, in my workshop. No factory runs, no dropshipping. When you order from The Wonderwyrks, you're getting something built specifically for your table.
How I Work
Step 01
Design
Every piece starts as a sketch or a digital model. I design around how it'll actually be used — how it sits on the table, how it feels in the hand, how it holds up to years of play.
Step 02
Print or Build
Depending on the piece, I'll either 3D print in resin or FDM, or build by hand from wood, foam, and mixed media. Many pieces combine both — printed details on handbuilt bases.
Step 03
Finish
Priming, painting, washing, drybrushing, sealing. The finishing stage is where a piece goes from 'printed object' to 'gaming treasure'. I don't rush this part.
Step 04
Pack & Ship
Each piece is wrapped carefully and shipped with a handwritten note. I want it to arrive feeling like a gift, not a package.
Materials & Methods
I'm particular about what goes into every piece. Here's what I work with:
Resin 3D Printing
High-detail resin printing for miniatures and fine terrain features. Captures detail down to 0.05mm — you'll see every scale, every rivet.
FDM 3D Printing
Durable FDM printing for larger terrain, storage, and structural pieces. Strong enough to survive years of gaming.
Hardwoods
Walnut, maple, and cherry for dice trays and wooden accessories. Sourced from local suppliers where possible, finished with food-safe oils and lacquers.
Acrylic Paints
Professional-grade acrylics, washes, and inks for all painted work. Sealed with matte or satin varnish for durability at the table.
Mixed Media
Foam clay, texture paste, static grass, and natural materials for terrain. The goal is always realism — pieces that look like they belong in the world.
Laser-Cut Acrylic
For tokens, markers, and decorative inlays. Clean edges, precise cuts, and available in a huge range of colors and finishes.
What I Believe
Quality over quantity
I'd rather make fewer pieces and make them right. No corners cut, no shortcuts taken.
Made for actual play
Pretty is good. Durable is better. Everything I make is designed to survive the table — dice rolls, spilled drinks, and all.
Custom is the default
I love custom orders. If you have a vision, I want to help you realize it. The weirder and more specific, the better.
